  Maybe it was the best photo of the shoot? Always check the wedding photographer's references first ...

  I don't think that's a vignette - just a black background to show the shape of the button. You can see the light reflecting off the curved edges. But as you say, they would still be at a slight angle within the button, which is unusual!
