First prize won by the Mackay - Charters Towers District Exhibit, Royal National Association Exhibition in Brisbane, 1934

DISTRICT EXHIBITS QUEENSLAND ROYAL SHOW It augurs well for Queensland that widespread enthusiasm should evidence itself at this period with the close proximity of that great State institution, the Royal National Show. Occupying as it does a conspicuous and useful place in the life of the community, this State exhibition as sumes more completely each year that representative aspect of Queens land's immense resources as a great agricultural State, and perhaps in no section of the show is this fact better exemplified than in the district exhibits, which feature so vividly the wonderful quality of the primary products, which include a surprising range of luscious sub-tropical fruits of great commercial value. The following districts have already lodged entries in the A grade district exhibits, which embrace primary products and manufactures:— North Coast of N.S.W., South Coast of Queensland, West Moreton and Daily Text WAIT on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27 : 14. Wide Bay and Burnett. West Moreton has annexed the principal honour in this section for the past two years, whilst last year the North Coast of N.S.W. ran a very close second. In the B grade exhibits, which cover primary products only, five districts have nominated, including a new entrant—Caboolture—which also includes the Pine River and the district lying between Zillmere and Beerburrum. The other districts are Kingaroy, Mackay-Charters Towers, Nanango, and Oakey. In the one farm section the following entries have been lodged:— J. Beck, L. D. Christensen, A. Lofgren, and J. T. Whiteway. The official prize schedule, which is now available to all intending exhibitors, contains a fund of information regarding every section of the show. Any exhibitors who have not yet received their copy should write in at once to the secretary, Royal National Association, Courier Building, Queen-street, Brisbane, from whom all information can be obtained.
