The Zeppelin hangar at Trier was full of various German aircraft when US occupation forces arrived there. There are some great shots taken from a catwalk up in the top of the airship hangar and there were a lot of Fokker D.VIIs packed in there as well as Rumpler C.VII, DFW C.V, LVG C.V and C.VI, Halberstadt C.V, Junkers J.I or J.II, and many more. Someone has chalked "1st Aero" on the side, perhaps to lay claim to it by the unit for pilots to test it out and learn its qualities.

Two Fokker fuselages have recently been unloaded from their end-door baggage car and await assembly of their undercarriage strut/axel fairing structures with port and starboard wheels (one assembly lying on ground in center of photo between the two fuselages) prior to transporting them to nearby Melgaard Park in Aberdeen, South Dakota on April 24, 1919. This was the VLFC Mid-West Flight's 12th air show, and is documented in South Dakota History, Vol. 46, No. 1, 2016.
