Wow! The old black & white photos that we mostly see of this era don't convey the beauty of people in that time. She's a beauty. I wish women today took care to dress up like this before they go into work.

Unusual wooden pin with red lips, might be african or carribean? It just reflects the red on her lips as well and against the red vest looks great.

Its such a shame that these intelligent women did all this work during the war, but after the men came back it was as if they were second class citizens again. I wish there were more documentaries about this role women played in the war and in fact memorials as well recogizing their efforts.

It might have had something to do with the fact that the men had been through absolute hell and at the very least deserved decent jobs.
