Queen interested in an aeroplane

The plane in the foreground appears to be a Bristol F.2B Fighter, recognizeable by the unusual gap between the fuselage and the bottom wing. I wish these photos were available in a larger size. Are the originals this small ? Or did someone reduce their size before uploading to Flickr ? .

Breguet 14 B2

  • Aviatik IMG said:
This is NOT a Bristol F2b, but rather a French Breguet 14 B2 bomber of the U.S. 96th Aero Squadron. Look at how boxy and slab sided the nose section is, and the "rhino horn" exhaust stack... this is much different than the more slender rounded nose cross section of the Bristol F2b and the Rolls-Royce engine installation w/ the long exhuast stacks that run alongside the fuselage.
