Albatros Taube

Looking at the side of the fuselage gives away that this is an Albatros Taube

I am not the ultimate man for accuracy, but it is Albatros not Albatross.

Kees Kort Changed it! Luckily not all of our Albatros images had this mistake.

Prince Friedrich Sigismund monoplane (Argus 70 hp) 1912.

A famous picture issued as a postcard in Germany. This is not an Etrich Taube, but a monoplane design financed by Prinz Friedrich Sigismund von Preußen (as on the card). The design was of course not done by the Prince but by an engineer named Walter Eckardt. Different models were designed and built and this is the second one powered by a 70 hp Argus engine with the fuel tank fitted between the undercarriage and a top tank (Falltank) fitted overhead. The machine was exhibited on the Allgemeine Luftfahrt Ausstellung Berlin in 1912. Mark the crown on the rudder. I would identify this one as the Prince Friedrich Sigismund monoplane (Argus 70 hp) 1912.
