Frank C. Fake (February 1, 1892 - May 4, 1972) As per his obituary on Page 4 in the Coronado Eagle and Journal, Number 18, 11 May 1972: cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=CJ19720511.2.37 Cdr. Frank Fake Memorial services for Cdr. Frank Clement Fake, USN (ret.), were held Saturday morning in North Island Naval Air Station Chapel. Born in Oakland, Fake, 80, was graduated from University of Nevada. He entered the Navy in 1917 as an aviation cadet. Fake received his commission and wings as an ensign in the Navy Reserve in 1918. By 1921 he was made a lieutenant in the Navy. He was assigned to engineering duty, retiring in 1941 because of physical disability. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Retired Officers Assn, and Sigma Xi, honorary engineering fraternity. A Coronado resident since he retired from the Navy, he lived at 516 E avenue. He died May 4. Surviving are his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Mrs. Joanne Pace of San Diego; three grandchildren and three sisters. Pinkham Imperial Beach Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
