There is a lot of evidence of Herr Hitler's visits. St Anne's Cathedral (see note) is not yet repaired - " ... Built in the mid-1890s for the Girls Friendly Society of Ireland, it was originally known as the "House of Rest" and served as a home of rest for "sick and weary members".
The society received Royal permission to name it the Queen Victoria Home in 1901.
