Not actually Portland. This photo ran in The Sunday Oregonian. (Portland, Ore.), August 20, 1916, with the caption, "PHOTOGRAPHIC REMINISCENCES OF HUGHES VISIT HERE. The Columbia River Highway Is Beyond Any Question the Most Wonderful Scenic Drive in America," Was the Enthusiastic Comment of Both Mr. and Mrs. Hughes Following Their Auto Trip Up the Highway. The Photograph Shows Them at Multnomah Falls."
