Perhaps this is the R.J Collier, owner of Collier magazine and a 1910 Wright "B" aircraft. Reference here: www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=666

This appears to include Dr. J.C. Eberhardt of the Dayton Aeroplane Club. See NY Times article here: query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?_r=1&res=9903E...

All noted parties appear to have affiliations with aeronautical clubs or associations. A significant convention of aeronatical clubs was held in New York City in 1910, though this photo may or may not depict that location or events surrounding it (reference website in comment above). Eberhardt was named specifically in that NY Times article.

This is William J. Hammer, an assoicate of Thomas Edison. He was an electrical engineer and aeronautical enthusiast. Reference here: www.nasm.si.edu/research/arch/findaids/findaid_index.cfm?... and with a photo to compare here: www.nasm.si.edu/research/arch/findaids/pdf/William_J_Hamm...

Could this be C.J. Edwards of "C.J. Edwards and Son" as listed in the "1937 The Aeroplane Directory of the Aviation and Allied Industries"? Reference here: www.gracesguide.co.uk/wiki/C._J._Edwards_and_Son

probably the funeral of Wilbur Wright, who died 30 May 1912 from typhoid fever.

We'll add a note to the source catalog, with the caution of "probably" until more information turns up. Thanks!

TVL 1970: Thank you for catching that Collser is Robert J. Collier. We will fix the description when we update.
