Thanks for the City College of New York location, J Biochemist. Based on the other Bain photos of organists Tattersall and Charles Marie Courboin in the same place for a conference, I think this man may be Miles I'Anson Martin (not Marten). According to the periodical "American Organist" for Jan. 1919, "Miles l'A. Martin" was the secretary of the American Guild of Organists. His gravestone is here: www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=482257...

Makes sense based on the American Guild of Organists meeting 12/26-28/15 at City College, per query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9802EFDD1E3BE0...

Art Siegel: Thanks for the additional information confirming that this man is most probably organist Miles Martin. We will update our description.

Tatteersall was an organist from Toronto. See comments at Chas. Courboin (LOC)
proteinbiochemist : You are right about the location.

swanq and J Biochemist: Thanks for the location of this image and the information about Richard Tattersall. We will add more details when we update.

    Possibly Charles M Courboin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_M._Courboin

The face certainly seems a plausible match to the Wikipedia portrait.

NYT of Dec 23, 1917 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9802EFDD1E3BE03AB... reported on a meeting of American organists at the College of the City of New York. He played in the Great Hall on the Wednesday evening. Richard Tattersall of Toronto (and in nearby Bain photo) was another attendee. American Organist of books.google.com/books?id=vU5hAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA106&l... reported on the meeting at some length.

swanq and Film&PhotoArchivist: Thank you for the information about Belgian American organist Charles Marie Courbain. The photos seem to match so we can add information about him to the description when we update.
