I was in the WW2 only when we left France and got near to Germany I saw the women collaborators of the Germans...they had their hair cut off in a big school yard...it was horrible they were crying...some could not care a less...a lot were expecting...Nick Greener British Soldier

The girls look very young. NSB was the Dutch Nazi's wasn't it? So were they like the League of German Girls in the Hiltler Youth (Bund Deutscher Mädel in der Hitler-Jugend)?

I'm not sure about translating moffenmeid, it doesn't sound terribly PC in English. "Kraut-girl"

I read the translation as Shaved maidservants

She just died last year; an obituary: articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-03-01/features/ct-met-re... She was featured in a recent fundraising campaign at her alma mater, North Central College: northcentralcollege.edu/x47826.xml And on a personal note, she was born exactly on the same day as my grandmother, 29 November 1919.

@ Frank Ik vermoed dat het een foto-scan is, geen negatief-scan. Bij verder uitvergroten gaat de kwaliteit dan dramatisch achteruit.

Keep pictures alive ,never forget history, or we will all be lost. My uncle, a Para was captured at Arnhem. Luckily still with us today.
