    Modified herring bone pattern in field is for land drainage. What I can't see are the terracotta clay pipes. Maybe they have been laid and are awaiting to be back filled. The heaps along the headland look to be stone to be laid over the pipes.

    "Statue to the memory of James Doyle (JKL), Bishop of Kildare & Leighlin
    Statue is in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow. The sculptor was John Hogan, Tallow, Co. Waterford. He won the commission to create the memorial statue in 1837 and it was completed in 1839."

    Odd, the Stations of the Cross #11 behind the statue does not match the ones in the modern shot above, but also doesn't match that Delany Archive shot. Nor is the statue in the same position in any of the 3 shots.
