Mr. Palmer did a great publicity shoot at Douglas that day. Dress was a bit formal I would say! Oil coated aluminum shavings from a lathe are not something I would wear good clothes around!

I *think* this may be my grandma. She worked for Douglas when she was in her early 20s. I have seen pictures of her at about this age that were black and white and they are VERY similar.

This is the front end of a C-47. The woman has inserted the rivit and is controlling the rivit gun. The man is holding a "T" bucking bar against the end of the rivit so it will flare and draw the aluminum sheets together. Styaged, but nice.

I didn't know there was transparency film in 1942. I agree with ChrisRudge and Eric in SF. This is great lighting. I had one flight in a C47. Was this the one?

Kodachrome came out in 1935. There were earlier, larger format color reversal films prior to Kodachrome.
