What a great photo of the shiny new car, whatever it is - does anyone know? The front left tyre has "UNITED STATES TIRE Co." written on it, which may mean a US maker.

Also the car is Left Hand Drive.

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/51979177@N02] Good thinking with the fund raising / Red Cross idea ... you could well be right. I think the car more than "vaguely resembles" a 1915 Cadillac - I would say a definite "yes", when compared to this - www.motorera.com/cadillac/cad1910/1915/1915cad.jpg , from www.motorera.com/cadillac/cad1910/cad15s.htm I have had this photo as my desktop background for a month or so, hoping for a flash of inspiration about the oval, playground swings and houses in the background. It's a terrific photo!

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/51979177@N02] Yes it seems that John McGrath had the monopoly for Cadillacs - a photo of their display at the first Australian motor show at the RAS Show in 1911 - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/125694309. Strangely, most photos of contemporary Cadillacs show 10-spoke wheels at the front, with 12-spoke wheels at the rear. Not apparent in our photo, which bugs me! It might mean something, or probably nothing. Another hi-res Cadillac photo for comparison - 2.bp.blogspot.com/-SmrycP6CV3c/U768slRHa_I/AAAAAAAAxz0/Hy... The titler, or mis-titler, of Series NRS 4481 strikes again with " ... for Australia Day". At the time (pre 1935) it would have been Anniversary Day, if anything. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_Day#Centenary_celebration...
