The photo looks strangely modern for the 1880s. It was the Burton (not Durton) Bros in Dunedin - "During the 1880s Alfred [Burton] travelled extensively through the South Pacific, photographing scenes of village life in Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burton_Brothers
