This early production Blenheim Mk.I K7072 became the prototype for the Type 149 Bolingbroke Mk.I which first flew on September 24, 1937 with the new elongated nose. Close examination of the above photo reveals that the scooped indentation on the port side of the nose glazing is not yet in place, it having been added later after flight testing revealed the long nose interfered too much with pilot visibility. It remains unclear whether this aircraft was shipped to Canada as a pattern aircraft for Fairchild Aircraft Ltd. at Longeuil, Quebec.
