Did part of this ship interior end up in a Northumberland pub when it was broken up?? I'm probably way off mind!

It's possible... Parts of the engine room controls in this photo www.flickr.com/photos/twm_news/5621049717/in/photostream/ became part of the collection at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums when Mauretania was dismantled,so it may be that the pub did have sections of it.

I'm sure it was a hotel or pub in the Alnwick area - too far for me to do a pub crawl. ;)

You are nearly right.....the White Swan Hotel in Alnwick has a whole dining room from the Olympic (sister ship of the Titanic) which was rescued when she was broken up at Blyth. A few years ago a whole barn full of artefacts was discovered at Buston (nr Alnwick) and there is more in a pub in Derbyshire....so there are bits of the Olympic everywhere!

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Women with very long hair, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

I'd love to see Ms Grace's hair floating in the summer breeze!

Isn't she one of the seven Sutherland sisters, all of whom had extra long hair like this? They sold hair-care products. :)

I feel so sorry for this poor lady, fancy having to lug all that hair around everyday! It must've been very hot during the summer - I bet she couldn't wait for cold weather.

that's a lot of hair. lovely shot though and probably you wouldn't see her wear it like this very often
