He was a British diplomat and lived from 1858 to 1944. We will add a bit more information when we update the record. Harry Angstrom: This Hardinge is in fact Charles Hardinge, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penshurst, 1858-1944. Other captioned photos of him in our non-digitized holdings confirm his identity.
