"Harvey Management" means it was part of the Harvey House hotel chain, one of the early chains run by Frederick Harvey a pioneer of the hotel management business. The Bisonte Hotel was in Hutchinson, Kansas, built in 1906, closed in 1946 and was subsequently demolished. A great piece of hotel history. As for the postal connection? I'm not sure. For the time being I suppose that the wagon and horse were for mail delivery or conveyance. Not G K Bailey, but G H Bailey. Both the Army List and the Supplement to the Army List do not show a G K Bailey as having served with the RFA or any other unit. Guy Horsman Bailey Born in the second quarter of 1891 Streatham, London, the third of five children born to [Retired Colonel] Edward Alec Horsman Bailey [b.1850 Clapham, London] a Solicitor & Farmer, and Jane Bailey nee Rose [b.1857 Stamford Hill, Middx]. The 1901 census records him living at “Spring Hill”, Sunnyhill Road, Streatham, London, with his parents and siblings Edward [b1886 Kensington, London], Lorna [b.1888 Kensington, London], Vivian [b.1894 Streatham, London] and Winifred [b.1897 Streatham, London]. The 1911 census records him living with his parents and three of his siblings at “Foxholes” near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The household also comprises two visitors to the family and six domestic servants. Guy is described as an Undergraduate at Oxford University. His older brother, Edward Alec, is recorded as a Solicitor and Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery [Territorial]. London Gazette entries read; 9th July 1915 – The under mentioned 2nd Lieuts. To be Lieutenants ... G H Bailey. Effective 9th June 1915. 28th January 1916 – The following despatch has been received from General Sir Ian Hamilton G.C.B. My Lord, I have the honour to submit herewith a list of names of the Officer and men whose services I wish to being to your Lordship’s notice in connection with the operation described in my despatch of 11th December 1915.......... Royal Artillery (Royal Horse & Royal Field Artillery) Lt. G H Bailey. 13th November 1916 – The under mentioned to be Temp. Captains ... Lt G H Bailey. Effective 27th July 1916. At some point he was also awarded the Military Cross but I have been unable to fine the Gazette entry. 29th June 1917 – The under mentioned to be Acting Majors ... Lt (Temp. Capt.) G H Bailey M.C. (Since killed in action). Effective 23rd November 1916. He was killed in action on 28th February 1917 while serving with L Battery, 29th Div.
