Nice but Im skeptical about the weight of 90 Tons. Maybe the weight includes the wood and rock foundation. The Liberty Bell weighs a little over 1 Ton.
  • FotoJudd said:
The liberty bell is about 5 feet tall and about 3.5 feet in diameter at the base. Judging by the standing figure (5 ft tall), this bell is about 15 feet tall and 15 feet in diameter at the base; considerably bigger. Even so 90 tons seems excessive.
  • Eric Hunt said:
Very cool! A painting of the bell: www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/onlineex/apac/other/019wdz0000005... 90 tons is correct! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mingun_Bell

Katary Falls from Below

  • Eric Hunt said:
I believe this is currently spelled Katteri Falls. Googling that name has brought me to some more modern photos of these falls.
  • Eric Hunt said:
Bah. English transliterations are no fun. More spelling variants are popping up. Katterie Water Falls is another name/spelling.

There appear to be significant differences in the English spelling of place names in India during the 19th century, as compared to modern spellings. In most cases, we have used the 19th century spellings.
