    This building is now known as the Old Nassau County Courthouse: "The County Seat found its home in Mineola on July 13, 1900, as Governor Theodore Roosevelt laid the cornerstone of the Nassau County Court House. A celebration was held to commemorate this momentous occasion on the barren 5-acre (20,000 m2) site at the corner of Old Country Road and Franklin Avenue.     "The Equitable Life Assurance Building was completed in 1870 at 120 Broadway in New York City, New York. At 130 feet (40 m), it is considered by some the world's first skyscraper and was the first office building to feature passenger elevators. The architects were Arthur Gilman and Edward H. Kendall, with George B. Post as a consulting engineer and hydraulic elevators made by the Elisha Otis company.
