You can read a little more about Private Hines in the online version of an exhibiton we did a few years ago called Fifty Australians. He became quite famous because of this photo, which was first published in late 1917.

Mickey Devine was a Providence, RI, boxer active in the ring from 1910 to 1921. The only information I can find about him is this bout list from BoxRec, two brief mentions in NY Times articles when he was low on the card, and one Times Article telling of his defeat by Willie Houck in a ten round bout fought in April, 1912.

this is my ancestor. If anyone knows more about him please do tell. What is know is his family tree and his recent decendents.
