Lorena Jane Cruce (1895-1972), b. Ardmore, Picken County, Indian Territory, daughter of Governor Lee Cruce (1863-1933) and his wife, Chickie LeFlore (1871-1903); married in 1919 Joseph Herndon Norris (1891-1965). They had at least three children (Thomas, Lorena, and Lee). This is a two-story building with a brick facade. The first floor is divided into four bays, with 13 clerestories above." The building with the 4-pointed stars is the Stephen Starr Building. The right-hand building was the Mundy Block, built in 1889. It was the oldest building in the historic district, but had severe structural problems, s. npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/2847b21f-9bea-4bee-ba69-8ff80e... p. 9f 5.

He's not on the Post Office appointment books (available through the BPMA/Ancestry) so most likely an employee of another Civil Service department. POR officers weren't necessarily Post Office employees. I'll try and find some more information (Post Office employees and their backgrounds is my PhD thesis area).

The information available on Ancestry details the following:

He appears on the list of 'British Officer Prisoners of War' as a Second Lieutenant with the date missing as May 1916. It reads on that he was repatriated on the 13 December 1918 and the section was 'Western Theatre of Operations'.

His medal card reads 'exonerated officers List A' as a Lieutenant, no date given though.

There is only one Neville Ames on the 1911 census. It reads that he was born in 1892 in London and was working as an Insurance Office Clerk, whilst living in Fulham with his mother and two servants.
