As 331 with Israeli Defense Force Air Force. Assigned as ground trainer at Holtz Technical School, Tel Aviv, Israel. Preserved as gate guard at Ramon AB with fake serial 119 in Jul 2012. The 420-ton Japanese Subchaser #39 is seen under attack by the 500th Squadron off the tip of New Hanover Island on February 16, 1944. This photo was taken from RITA'S WAGON with Capt. Max Mortensen piloting. 1/Lt. Richard B. Fritzshall's aircraft, BROTHER RAT, which carried a shark's mouth insignia, is seen just after he released a bomb over the ship.

"On 10 October the school conducted the first military trials of a bombsight and dropping device which had been invented by Riley E. Scott, a former coast artillery officer. The tests took place at College Park in an Army Wright B plane flown by Milling; Scott, lying prone on the lower wing, operated the bombing device, which was placed directly in front of the wing." Not long after, Scott won a $5,000 Michelin prize in a bomb-dropping competition in Paris.
