    You have NOT misspelled the name. This is Alois B. SALIGER, born about 1880 in the Adlergebirge area of Bohemia (Austria), immigrated about 1883. He grew up in the Lewis County, WA area. His parents were Frank and Marie Saliger. I would guess that about the time that this picture was taken, Alois was living in New York City. Alois was an inventor and businessman, owner of the Saliger Ship Salvage Company in New York.

    Having served there in 1968-71 it is the beginnings of Norton AFB then known as San Bernardino AAfld, the planes change but not the terrain. The photo is looking South-east with runway 24/6 being lay out with the Santa Ana River bed in the background. The O-birds are from the 10th or 31st Observation Squadron which are listed as being station there at the note date on the photo. Best regards Tom
