Allan Frederick Winslow born 26th December 1896 Middlesex, Massachusetts, USA. Fourth child of Edward Winslow [b.1873 Mass. USA] and Emily L Winslow [b.1876 Canada]. The 1910 census records him living at 32 High Street Natick Township, Middlesex, Massachusetts, with his parents, older sister Isabel [b.1902 Mass. USA], older brothers John [b.1903 Mass. USA], Edward [b.1904 Mass. USA] and a maternal aunt. The 1920 US census records him living at Framingham, Massachusetts USA with his older and younger brothers in the household of his maternal aunt Eliza Ferris [b.1839 Canada]. He is an Ensign in the US Navy. The 1930 US census records him living at 101a Gladesmore Apartments, Philadelphia, with his wife, Dorothy Winslow [b.1895 Canada] their son Allan jnr. [b.1928 New York, USA]. He is a Lieutenant in the US Navy. The 1940 US census records him living in San Diego with his wife, Dorothy Winslow [b.1895 Canada] their son Allan jnr. [b.1928 New York, USA] and a domestic servant. His Occupation is recorded as US Navy Officer. During WW2 he served in the US Navy as a Liet. Cmdr. Died Feb 1979. Buried at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, California, USA. His last address was 93041 Port Hueneme, Ventura, California, USA.

Douglas Gordon Campbell, son of Duncan A Campbell [b.1868 Ontario, Canada] and Helen Bickerdike Campbell [b.1867 Quebec, Canada] Born 5th Feb 1898 Quebec, Canada. The 1901 Canadian Census records him living at [and I’m not sure that the complete address is given in the Canadian Census form] house number 84, no street name given, with his parents and younger sister, Helen [b.1900 Quebec, Canada]. His father’s occupation is illegible. His papers for the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force[dated 24th Feb 1917] state that he had already served six months in the Montreal Heavy Brigade of the Militia in the rank of Lieutenant. His address at the time he signed the papers was 337 Board Trade Building, Westmount, Quebec. On 19th July 1917 transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. He subsequently served in the following squadrons; 5 Training Sqn. 73 Sqn. 38 Training Sqn. 20 Sqn. [Bristol Fighters], and from the 17th Jan 1918 he was posted to Biggin Hill for a course in Wireless Telegraphy. He was killed in action while the pilot of an aircraft [type unknown] on 19th Feb 1918 and is buried in Lijssenthoek Cemetery.

This has got to be from the '94th' Aero Squadron, 'Hat-in-the-Ring' symbol which was based at Toul France in 1918. Think the aircraft is a SPAD XIII
