Wow, look at that streamlining. I think about the box- shaped planes of WW1 and then I look at this from the 30's. What a difference

Charles succeeded to the thrones in November 1916, when his grand-uncle, Franz Josef I of Austria died. Charles also became a Generalfeldmarschall in the Austro-Hungarian Army."

Przemyśl was a huge fortress complex, one of the largest in Europe, located then in Austro-Hungary's Galicia, now in southeastern Poland. In a series of huge battles there in the first year of the war, 115,000 died, wounded or were missing in action.

The first siege was lifted by a temporary Austro-Hungarian advance. However, the Russian army resumed its advance and initiated a second siege of the fortress of Przemyśl in October, 1914. This time relief attempts were unsuccessful. Due to lack of food and exhaustion of its defenders, the fortress surrendered on March 22, 1915. The Russians captured 126,000 prisoners and 700 big guns. Before surrender, the complete destruction of all fortifications was carried out."
