This train? may be in the Repair shop but I doubt it is in for repair! rather it looks like it is scrapped or being cannibalised for other uses. Is (was) it a Narrow Guage Engine?

I might say that it's probably a standard gauge loco, judging from the length, and the size of the pistons. I'd agree with Danny it doesn't look too good, probably been cannibalised for other uses. The C&L had much smaller engines, so I might assume this photo is probably taken elsewhere on the county, maybe in Inchicore, but where would involve a bit of detective work!

How about Cavan & Leitrim Railway 4-4-0T narrow-gauge tank engine? These had outside cylinders, a round-topped firebox, and solid wheels on the leading bogie. "Nos.5 and 6 were scrapped in 1925 and 1927. The others gradually lost their names except No.3 Isabel, which retained hers until withdrawal in 1949. No.7 had been cut up in 1945, but the remaining four lasted until the closure of the line in April 1959. No.3 has gone to the USA for preservation in working order near New York." An anonymous late-model P-40 assigned to the 51st FG; the unit's three squadrons were the 16th (tail numbers 351-400), 25th (201-250) and 26th (251-300). A fourth squadron was later added, the 449th (301-350), the group's only P-38 Lightning operators.
