This is patently not produced between 1914-1918. Look at the label - by appointment to the late King George V - he died in 1936 so this tin clearly dates post that event..

A.Davey sheriffs are elected by their fellow councillors and nowadays the office is essentially ceremonial. In medieval times, though, it was a different story.

This is a serious question; Does anyone know where those hats can be bought? The type in the pic were a far superior design by being wider and thicker.

yes those are excellent hats, keeping rain off the neck and ears thanks to that extraordinary diameter. You can get a pretty broad harris tweed cap. In Oban.

There is hardly any elements that are not iconic on this photograph. Amazing to see how great of a photograph could be achieved with the technology available at the time.
