As a novice otherwise known as a "Maiden" despite my gender, I used to row in the 60's with blades like that. Since then they have been transformed and today the blades are very different from those. Lovely photograph of fine looking young ladies and a wonderful explanation of the circumstances, well done ANMM.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/51979177@N02] It is funny you should come back to these images Quasymody - I have been doing some research on dear Trixie. We have a photo album of hers on display in the museum and hey presto! It is open to the photo that appears in the 1933 AWW article so it is her crew! When I get the chance to view the album in depth I will let you know the names, it appears that each pic has info on the back just hard to get to currently... Thanks so much for the articles, locking them away into our catalogue :)
