Het Historisch Centrum Overijssel heeft een unieke privéfilm van het vervoer van de Ambonezen naar kamp Westerbork in haar collectie, gemaakt door de eigenaar van het busbedrijf dat het vervoer verzorgde (Schutte Tours uit Zwolle). De Ambonezen worden gefilmd vanaf het verlaten van de boot tot in het kamp zelf. Schutte had ook een inzamelingactie op poten gezet voor kleding e.d.

Het voormalig doorgangskamp Westerbork werd na de oorlog het opvangkamp voor de Molukse KNIL-militairen, de Schattenberg. Aanvankelijk werden zij hier met hun gezinnen voor slechts een half jaar ondergebracht. Veel mensen in dit kamp leefde uit een koffer om zodoende ieder moment terug naar Indië te kunnen vertrekken.
