The house was called "The Moorings" and was listed in an 1899 directory of York Harbor as owned by Mrs Joseph Davis. A 1931 directory indicates that the home was later owned by Mr. and Mrs J. Munroe Mathes.

Lovely shot of the cavalry getting ready. Interesting barrack buildings in the background, all much the same as those in such places as Birr, Templemore etc. except that the space above the archway is not built up and the clock is not mounted on the tower of the cupola.

Thats a great picture - some equipment each cavalry trooper had. Hope the clock was working!!
