Christian Lüts said:
Born 28th October 1896 Kingston, Surrey. The sixth child [of ten] of Paul Oppitz [b.1865 d.1942] and Elizabeth nee Smith [b.1863 d.1921]. He began work as a juior clerk with the LMS Railway Co. On 22nd June 1914 on a salary of £30 per year. His Military service commenced on 22nd April 1915. He married Mary Agnes Fallowes on 15th June 1819 at St Barnabas Church, Lambeth. The 1920 London Electoral Register records him living at 249 South Lambeth Road, London [his wife, of course, does not appear because women did not gain the vote until 1928]. The 1938 telephone directory records him living at 41 Windermere Road, Coulsdon, Surrey. He died in the third quarter of 1959, Mid Surrey.
