The saxophone looks a little unusual to me, in an otherwise classical orchestra. I presume that is the conductor centre front; who is the lady on his right - a singer?

beachcomber australia Maybe a singer, alright! She has sheet music rolled up, and she's the only one without an instrument...

A wild guess for the location would be Waterford City hall or the Theater Royal. Unfortunately I'm a little too far away to pop in a take a look.

Its definitely not Waterford City Hall ( The Large Room) and is not the Theatre Royal. I believe that it may be St Catherine's Hall and Sunday School in Catherine Street Waterford, aka the Protestant hall. It has been altered since the photo, but will check out location in next few days. DG
