Spencer House, Digbeth Garage, Birmingham, the building being the offices of Midland 'Red' Motors.

Midland Red Digbeth garage was opened on 3 January 1929. I would suggest that this excellent photograph was taken soon afterwards. Are you able to tell us the date? The name "Spencer House" did not apply until the Digbeth frontage was reconstructed in 1958. It was named in honour of Sir John Spencer Wills (1904-1991) who was chairman of the board of directors of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited (Midland Red) from 1946.

I don't know which I like best, the building or the car. There is at least one motorcycle parked against the building

Fashion photography with open horse drawn tram in Stockholm 1959

Adorably silly! It's almost like a 50s shop-window display with mannequins. But it was a great idea to use the old tram.

Fashions and trams have come a long way since then.
