    Rather than a light bulb, it seems to be a vacuum tube, and with four pins likely a triode amplifier. The drafting triangle etc. suggest the man may be working on an electronic schematic diagram, but I'm not sure how to start ID-ing him…

    In the other photo showing a closeup of the tube, its metal base is stamped "PROPERTY OF AMERICAN TEL & TEL COMPANY" and "101 B PAT. IN USA" which leads to this German-language site…
