Fokker, V.1

  • Aviatik IMG said:
This was Fokker's revolutionary new design following the Junkers-Fokker forced partnership in late 1916. inspired by the Junkers "thick wing" cantilevered wing structures that he saw on Junkers monoplanes, and the J.4 armored biplane (Junkers J.I when placed in production), he then had his prototype shop develop the thick wing structures with internal box spars, and skinned with plywood. He saw potential in Junkers thick wing profile, and also the plywood construction for skinning inspired by his earlier contact with Forssmann. The V.1 had a 110 h.p. Le Rhône rotary installed.
