Audience comments from the Caribbean Photographic Memories session, Leeds West Indian Centre, October 2013 The open air lesson under the shade of a tree was a picture that could be recognised and remembered as normal to escape the heat of a classroom. The pupils leaving the inner city school in Jamaica were also typical for a Caribbean school – with all pupils wearing school uniforms.
