Strange grouping. It looks like the soldiers are protecting the harvesting. The man with the dog looks like the landowner (plus fours etc). Were they threatened?

Any chance some of your lower resolution uploads, like this group and the Ansel Adams, will be upgraded to higher resolution? I know sometimes libraries made these lower resolution scans a long time ago before high resolution equipment was widely available.

The lower resolution (72 dpi) uploads are the same versions available in our online catalog (the Archival Research Catalog, or ARC www.archives.gov/research/arc/ ). Most of these were digitized in the late 1990s. Photographs and documents that have been digitized more recently are almost always available in the catalog at a higher resolution (300 dpi). In those cases, we always make the higher resolution version available here on Flickr, too. We would love to make higher resolution versions (of the lower resolution copies) available some time in the future. Thanks again, Jill (U.S. National Archives)

Jill - yup, that's what I've noticed and I really REALLY am excited you're making the high resolution available. It sounds like if/when you re-scan the items scanned in the late 90s you'll make those available.
