This is the starboardside (right side) blister gun position on a Consolidated PBY Catalina flying boat, identified by its unique shape, allowing excellent visibility. Another image in this series shows AOM Waller testing a 30-calibre machine gun he had just installed on the portside (left side) blister of PBY, perhaps the very same aircraft as the one in this image.
