Queens Square, Sydney

Queen Victoria Statue unveiled 1888, The Centenary. No sign of King Street cable tram lines in front, which suggests before 1894. Interesting to compare with a wonderful contemporary Henry King photo of Victoria and Albert. There is even a pukka gent gazing adoringly at The Queen in both photos - Amazing zoom detail - from.ph/30794, including the lamps and bollards in need of a paint, which suggests they are not brand new. ie closer to 1894 than 1888.
