Well done Mr Hall ! Some time in 1931, judging from the state of the Harbour Bridge ... The HELEN B STERLING seems to be moored off Bradleys Head - you can see the lighthouse right of frame. {Grrr @ Flickr for messing up the notes!]

Definitely Govett's Leap Lookout or fairly close to it...you get a different view from Evans Lookout...

When I used to go hiking in this part of the world I didn't own a camera, so I don't have a single photo to show for all those wonderful days (and nights) spent in the Grose Valley and tributaries...in all sorts of weather...most of the time wearing volleys or running shoes, carrying a backpack from army disposals containing an old wool jumper, a cheap plastic raincoat and a tent fly...and sometimes a sleeping bag.

If anyone wants to pay for my airfare and a couple of night's accommodation I'm willing to make a trip to the area to establish the exact location...I have a camera these days, so I can take photos from the various locations...

beachcomber australia pellethepoet A fabulous piano. There's an interesting article on the saloon and interior of the vessel. This photograph was most certainly taken at the same time as the one of Ray Sterling. Judging by how young Ray Sterling looks in the other photograph, this photograph was probably taken between 1912 and 1916.
