Foaled in 1877 Family no 14 from the Stud book Sired by Yattendon from the mare 'First Lady"

I know it's highly unlikely, but I keep thinking this man looks like he could be my great-great-great uncle 1st Lieutenant James B. Burrows who was with the 9th Regiment New York Volunteer Cavalry from 1861 until August 25, 1864 when he was killed in battle. A photo of him titled "NY State Adj Gen Coll RG526s B5A F487 1st Lt James B Burrows.jpg" can be found on the United States Army Heritage and Education Center, Carlisle, PA website. An article honoring him for his bravery and sacrifice was printed in the New York Times on August 31, 1864 on page 8, and a scan of it is archived on the Library of Congress website. I believe James Burrows was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in 1862. Does anyone recognize the location where this photo might have been taken? There is not much to go by other than the fence, roof of a building behind it, and a couple of tall tree trunks, and the forest in the background. I have been collecting information about James B. Burrows and am hoping to learn a little more about this mystery soldier and his very beautiful but thin horse who appears to be a thoroughbred stallion. Another small clue might be the horse's markings, and particularly the unusual white patch in the horse's mane, perhaps from a healed battle scar? Horses can get white patches from healed injuries such as saddle sores, freeze brands, etc.
