A "Liberty Loan" would put this in the World War I era. In fact, this photograph would have been taken in late April, or during March 1919. A Liberty Loan was the name given to the U. S. Treasury's means of raising funds from the public via bond issues to pay for war work. The Fifth Liberty Loan, with the slogan "Finish The Job" was launched on 21 April, 1919, with a canvass period of three weeks: query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9C05E6DA1E39E13AB... More on Liberty Loans: www.answers.com/topic/liberty-loans And here's some information about the photographer, Gabriel Moulin: www.moulinstudios.com/history.htm As for the Magnavox, this is a vacuum tube amplifier with speaker horn. Electrically amplified sound was a relatively new technology in 1919, and in that year the Magnavox gained national attention after President Woodrow Wilson used a Magnavox to amplify a speech he gave in San Diego.
