Felipe_Bezerra First landing aboard ship by a USN helicopter was in 1943 ! This one is a Vought-Sikorsky R-5 A. soon to be the 'H'-5 Licence produced in Britain as the Westland Dragonfly. The designation 'H' was given to helicopters from 1949
