the 1913 International Flower show related to these photos was held at the Grand central palace. Unfortunately the building was demolished and I can't find any record of the eagles. The International Flower Show, co-sponsored with the New York Florist’s Club, was the grandest of the shows produced by The Horticultural Society. It was held at Grand Central Palace from 1913 to 1953 and later at The New York Coliseum through 1970. www.hsny.org/about_history.html

Benjamin Balme, the fourth of six children born to George Frederick Balme [b.1862 d.1921] and Annice Balme nee Kershaw [b.1860 d.1912] born in the first quarter of 1895 Clayton, Bradford, West Yorks. The 1901 census records him living at Town Bottom, Clayton, Bradford, with his parents and siblings. His father’s occupation if given as Wool Sorter. Town Bottom has since been renamed Town End Road, many of the original buildings survive. The 1911 census shows him still living with his parents and siblings but now at 7 Granville Street, Clayton. The property still survives. His occupation is recorded as Worsted [Wool] Spinner. With the exception of his mother and his youngest brother, the whole family are employed in the woolen trade. His enlistment records have not survived but he is commemorated on the Clayton War Memorial.
