beachcomber australia Irish Society (Dublin) - Saturday 26 September 1891 reported:
A lawn tennis party wbb recently held at Ardnagashel, Bantry, the residence of S. N. Hutchins, Ksq.. J.P. There were 30 entries, the competitors being composed of visitors as well as local ladies and gentlemen. After a few sets had been played, moist weather set in and the party adjourned the tennis tournament to a future occasion. A pleasant dance completed the afternoon’s entertainment hastily organised by the charming hostess
A good idea to have a few musicians handy if you might have to arrange an impromptu ball.

Spruce veneer bathing suits? That doesn't sound very comfortable.
