  These scissors now reside in the Legislative Assembly Lobby of NSW Parliament House, and have had a couple of official outings since 1932.   My late grandfather Mr Norman Neal and his best friend, the late Mr Les Denham designed and made the scissors when they worked for Angus and Coote in 1932...not a bad piece of family history!

  Vambola Veinberg was the designer of the scissors. "Highly ornate, the scissors are decorated with flannel flowers, waratahs and gum leaves set around a model of the Bridge. Vambola Veinberg designed the original s, Les Denham embossed them and Norm Neal engraved them in Angus & Coote’s workrooms".

  For a while I felt sorry for them because they stole to stay alive (hunger). Looking deeper into it they were starving because they rarely attended their regiment (free food) and because of this had no money for food outside their regiment.
