wow this might be a tricky one!

Do the numbers on the images mean anything? Going by the similarity with this I'd say around the same time ... and am still investigating. Ihave no idea where at this point but possibly looking down to Darling Harbour???

Sounds like a challenge to me :) There's a gas street light part way down the street which I assume could help to date it (presumably late 1800's). From the shadow and the lack of development on the land in the background, which is apparently across the harbour, I'm guessing that its looking north. Also seems to be a ferry terminal or something similar opposite the end of the street.

beachcomber australia I feel very lost as to location despite your hint. But I can say that if I'm right and it's around the same time as the George Street photo that it would be post 1908/9 which is the earliest that photo could be ... now what does that hint mean????

The boxes have solid head (end) were made by had or by a box machine. The triangle shaped vertical end piece tie the head, side and end together using box nails. The conveyer belt corner is interesting. The box may be pushe around the corner by the 'next' box on the belt. these boxes are being received, they are going into the warehouse from the field. The full boxes on the cart have the top layer turned at a 90 degree angle to the stack. I never saw this done or boxes that were sized allowing this. The truck in the background is easy to miss.

This looks like it's supposed to show a quality issue: the crate is damaged.
